Corneal Transplant – Partial (DALK)

Unlike the fully penetrating corneal transplant, DALK is a partial corneal transplant procedure that involves selective transplantation of the corneal tissuue, this is followed by placement of a cornea prepared from a full thickness in which the donor Endothelium membrane complex has been removed. The intention is to preserve the patient’s Descemet membrane and endothelium.
